Modern Slavery Statement

1. Our position

Maven International opposes modern slavery, forced labor, and human trafficking. We expect the people who work with us, and the third-party organizations we engage, to meet the same standard.

Modern slavery is a serious global issue. We do not claim that risk is absent from our work. We take proportionate steps to prevent it in the areas we can influence: how we engage and pay people, and how we select and manage the companies we work with.

This statement applies to Maven International LLC, Maven International Language Solutions Limited, Maven International Solutions LLC, and Maven International Sdn Bhd. We publish it voluntarily.

2. Where we focus

Our services are delivered by our own staff, by freelance professionals, and by third-party companies such as partner agencies and technology vendors. We give particular attention to three things:

  • the terms and payment of the people who work for us;
  • work being passed to others without our knowledge;
  • the labor practices of the third-party companies we engage.

3. What we do

  • Onboarding. Before we engage a freelance professional or supplier, we verify their professional identity, their qualifications, and how they are contracted.
  • Contractual requirements. Written terms set out the scope, deadline, rate, and payment schedule before work begins. Our Code of Conduct and Ethics applies on the same terms to staff, freelancers, subcontractors, partner agencies, and technology vendors. It prohibits child labor, forced or compulsory labor, undeclared employment, and the withholding of wages.
  • Payment practices. People we engage are paid in full, at the agreed rate, on the agreed schedule. We do not withhold payment as leverage.
  • Subcontracting. No part of an assignment may be passed to another person or company without our prior written approval.
  • Vendor checks. Where we engage a third-party company, we may require it to confirm that it does not use forced labor, modern slavery, or human trafficking, and that it takes reasonable steps to prevent these practices in its own operations.

4. Raising and handling concerns

If we become aware of a credible concern about a freelancer, supplier, or other third party, we review it and address it appropriately. Where necessary, that includes reconsidering the business relationship.

Anyone can report a suspected case of forced labor, trafficking, or exploitation connected to our work. Reports can go to a project manager, directly to the Director, or to admin@maven-international.com. We acknowledge every report within 10 working days and share it only with the people who need to act on it. Retaliating against someone who reports a concern in good faith is misconduct under our Code. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the local police first.

5. Governance and review

This statement is approved at Director level. It is reviewed annually and updated when material changes occur.
